Encouraging and Nurturing Highly Accomplished Native Certificated Educators

Project ENHANCE is new educational teacher training grant that is offered through The Association of Interior Native Educators and Doyon Foundation. It is a professional development project that will focus on increasing the number of certified Alaska Native or American Indian teachers. This project will target 15 urban or rural Alaska Native or American Indian applicants with an Associate or Bachelor Degree desiring to become Certified Teachers. Participants will complete all courses and requirements at the University of Alaska Fairbanks to be certified as teachers at the end of two years of the project.

Project Enhance participants will be provided financial support in the form of living expense, stipends, books and tuition costs to assist them in gaining their teaching certificates.

Student Financial Benefits

  • Annual Full Time Tuition and fees at UAF $4140
  • Summer Session Tuition and fees (if needed) $2070
  • Books and Supplies one year $1200
  • Student Stipends @ $1775 per 9 months $15, 975
  • Dependent aid @ $275 per one dependend/9 months $2475
